A MOMENT CAPTURED FOREVER ...
Simon is often commissioned to paint family members, children, parents, spouses, loved ones or scenery. Time moves quickly, the years go by, but Simon's portraits are an eternal visual statement of a defining moment: a child growing up, a parent retiring, an anniversary, a special trip, an unforgettable memory.
His art conveys the beauty of the moment in a way that a photograph or digital media cannot. Simon's portraits capture the essence of the person or scene painted ... not just the physical appearance, but also the character, the life story, the emotions.
SAMPLES
On the right are a couple of samples of simon's commission work. Please note that the diffierent systems, views and colour settings of each computer setup vary and web quality detracts from the quality of the finished work.
As with all art, the drama and presence of a piece can really only be appreciated when viewing the actual painting hanging in a suitable space.

Commisioned by Izak Smith:
The Booysen Family Commission started as a memorial to one of my best friends, Bennie Booysen, who died tragically during a cycling accident. I thought the painting will be the best way of creating a lasting memory of my friend. It is more personal than a photograph, and my gift to the family ... who suffered such a tragic loss. |

Commisioned by Richard Clark:
Richard Clark, the owner of Imvusa Transport, commissioned Simon to do a portrait of Ethan, the son of Jo-Ann van Biljon, the manageress of Imvusa Transport for her loyal service to the company.
The reason Richard had the portrait done was because this far exceeds any remuneration. This is a totally unique gift that will last for generations to come! |
